I don't say this lightly, Chris was the best person I had the opportunity to work with at Uber. He led Bikes & Scooters in EMEA and I had the opportunity to collaborate with him as Head of Marketing for Bikes & Scooters during our time together.

- He is a true operator. He scaled our efforts in Europe to build a profitable region in record time. He's the gold standard for all those who put "Uber alum" on their LinkedIn profile.

- He understood the Marketing landscape, how to build Marketing organizations, and the ways in which Marketing and Operations work together effortlessly. I would have never wanted Marketing to report into Operations - unless it was led by Chris.

- He is a true leader. He came to every meeting prepared, always being present with the matter at hand, and ending every meeting with clear next steps and clarity. He leads with empathy and his (sizable) team loved him.

Chris and I worked together in India as we launched and led growth for UberPool in the market. Chris played a critical role in launching new Pool markets in 2017, and this played a key role in the overall growth in the region. Apart from managing UberPool product, Chris managed the entire Southern region of India South Asia market and showed exemplary leadership and vision in his people and work management. As his quick growth in the org is a testament in itself, he was an asset to the hyper-competitive India market. It was an absolute pleasure working with Chris and I really look forward to working with him in the near future.

Chris is an exceptional and seasoned leader. He holds the highest hiring bar, evident in the quality of the JUMP operations team that he built, and truly invests in developing others. Though there are countless other drivers, the latter was the main factor others cited for choosing to follow him. Most admirably, Chris loves to roll up his sleeves and dig into the details with folks at all levels of an organization. Very few executives are (interested in, far less) able to throttle between these high and low level vantage points. Chris was my direct manager as General Manager for JUMP in EMEA from April 2019 to June 2020. Overall Chris has been a tremendous manager to me and leader for the Jump Organisation over good times and tough patches. From day 1, he impressed me with his ability to focus on what's most important : people. Countless hours spent on recruiting a rockstar team in early months, and more hours making sure our structure was right, our governance solid, and information sharing was timely and adequate. As a manager, he strikes the right balance between autonomy and control, leading people to do their best work. He also is a very strong strategic thinker building on a strong data driven approach, which makes his guidance very compelling. I consider myself lucky to have worked with him, and highly recommend him as a leader.

Chris is a forward-thinking, dynamic and compassionate leader. I worked with Chris when he was leading EMEA for JUMP. Chris was a true professional and a leader who could drive operational excellence in his teams. His ability to inspire his teams to produce strong results was one of the things I admired most about Chris. I had the chance to see the true test of a leader and how Chris responded with the announcement of the sale of JUMP to Lime. Chris was by far one of the best leaders I have had the pleasure and privilege of working with. I had the opportunity to work with Christian when he was a regional general manager in Uber's India rides business. Christian took a special interest in shared mobility and was a mentor to me during this time in this area.

Chris' rich experience across consulting and industry as an authority on mobility helped us develop UberPool as a product that served the specific needs of the South Asian market. This in spite of his being very new to the region and coming from a completely different market. Chris also mentored me on P&L management for a category that had challenging unit economics while also being a major growth lever.

I worked on Chris’ team at Uber in South India and later Sri Lanka for more than 2 years from 2016 to 2018, directly reporting to him for a majority of this period.

What stood out immediately for me when working with Chris was his innate ability to spot the most minute details from data, and draw sound conclusions from them. Chris is easily the most analytically sharp manager I have seen. We worked with complex data sets at Uber, with many of them quite unstructured which made them difficult to analyze. Chris was always the one who drove a lot of the hypotheses and helped us make sense of data much better.

Chris led Uber at a critical time in the region when we were making difficult tradeoffs between growth and profitability on a daily basis in a challenging competitive landscape. He dealt with these challenges with aplomb in a new cultural environment.

As a student at business school now, I’m able to connect a lot of the lessons being taught to what I learned watching Chris operate. He is a top-class general manager who is able to push his teams towards success, from devising new products and strategies to improving current ones. He also helps his team members achieve their personal goals by giving them strong responsibilities and the opportunities to learn, innovate and perform.

It's rare that you come across standout talent like Christian. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years at Roland Berger, collaborating to form a successful mobility practice.
